Ms Jacinta Lee Lai Yoong

I have been working as a physiotherapist for almost twelve years. It has been a great journey. I have a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Applied Rehabilitation (Physio) (UK) from Teesside University, United Kingdom. In recent years I have fully completed DNS by Kolar (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization). I am a fully certified DNS practitioner www.rehabps.com. I first worked in University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), during these six and a half years of working in UMMC, I have gain experiences in many fields. I have exposure in different fields in the teaching hospitals which give me rich experiences in treating patients with different conditions. I moved on to a rehabilitation centre (WQ) and was one of the pioneers in the set-up. Working in WQ Park Health and Rehabilitation Centre has taught me about providing quality services to clients and being more client centered.

In  my twelve years of work, it brings me great joy to see my patients get better. I love to see how my patients progress from the very first visit until they get better. I enjoy having the ability to empower patients to be as independent as possible and better coping with their disability. I am very happy that with my knowledge, I am able to teach carers and patients on how to better cope with normal activities of daily living at home which is one of the important elements in rehabilitation. Being able to be in the rehabilitation journey, it is not only a learning process for the patients but a learning curve for me and a journey that I treasure very much. .

In 2015, I would like to develop more on the Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) Approach for my patients. I am confident that I will be able to bring my care giving via physiotherapy strategies to a higher level by ‘marrying’ this new (DNS) approach with my previous experiences and knowledge.
