Background of ValedoMotion
The ValedoMotion is a product of Hocoma. Hocoma is a medical technology company that develops innovative therapy solutions, working closely with leading clinics and research centers. This technology was developed in Switzerland in collaboration with the team lead by Prof. Dr. Jan Kool at Zurich University of Applied Sciences. The product development builds on close cooperation with leading clinics and hospitals worldwide and is based on current results in medical research.
What is the ValedoMotion
The ValedoMotion is a device that uses innovative sensor technology to enhance back therapy. It consists of wireless sensors and software that can be installed inside a laptop or television. It can be used both in assessment and exercise treatment for the back. The sensors will be attached at the patient’s body to capture movements of the trunk during assessment and exercise in a game-like environment. Patient will be able to look at the screen for visual feedback in order to correct their movements with optimal alignment during the exercises. The exercises are designed to train specific therapeutic goals such as stabilization, mobilization and movement awareness. This software also provides documentation about the therapy progress.

The ValedoMotion is a medical back training and therapy device. It can be used as a tool for movement screening. It offers functional, entertaining and motivating exercises which can be individually customised according to the patient’s specific needs for an improved therapy outcome.
